Panasonic's advanced multi-task image-processing engine, Venus Engine III, provides high-speed response. It also suppresses noise without lowering resolution, to produce beautiful images. This engine also features low energy consumption despite its high performance.

Venus Engine III in the DMC-FX33 allows high-sensitivity recording up to ISO 1600 at full resolution. The noise reduction system is also greatly improved while maintaining high resolution. It removes noise at the processing stages in series. First, critical noise is roughly undraped and chromatic noise and luminance noise are separated. The chromatic noise, which has a greater effect on picture quality, is then selectively suppressed to a substantial degree.

The DMC-FX33 lets you set the maximum sensitivity in seven steps from ISO 100 to ISO 1600, or Auto, for 8.1-megapixel full-resolution shooting. Plus, the maximum ISO sensitivity in the High Sensitivity mode setting has been increased to ISO 6400**. In addition to giving you blur-free shots of active children and pets with indoor lighting, the DMC-FX33 lets you shoot in nearly total darkness with its ISO 6400 sensitivity. When using the High Sensitivity mode, the built-in flash reaches as far as 16 meters, to capture clear images even in dim lighting.
* Resolution significantly decreases in High Sensitivity mode.
** In 3-megapixel (4:3), 2.5-megapixel (3:2), 2-megapixel (16:9) recording.

The DMC-FX33 slashes the release time lag to 0.006 second minimum by increasing both its circuit speed and the point at which it detects the shutter release signal. The shutter interval is also shortened to around 0.8 second minimum*. This makes Lumix an extremely quick, responsive camera. It lets you capture images comfortably even at a moment's notice and is a pleasure to use.
* Not including the time for AF.

The DMC-FX33 lets you snap off consecutive shooting at 3 frames per second* with full resolution. By using the Scene Mode's Hi-speed Burst setting, you can enjoy extremely fast consecutive shooting of up to 7 frames per second.**
The Unlimited*** Consecutive Shooting function lets you keep on shooting until the memory card is full. You can take a series of shots, then choose the one you like best and delete the rest.
* Maximum of 7 images in Standard mode and 4 images in Fine mode.
** In 2-megapixel (4:3), 2.5-megapixel (3:2), 2-megapixel (16:9) recording.
*** The consecutive shooting speed varies depending on the memory card. The number of recordable picture depends on the memory card size, battery life, picture size, and compression.

Despite the significantly increased performance of the camera, the Venus Engine III consumes only 80% of the power utilized by the Venus Engine II and is able to achieve a longer battery life of approx. 280 pictures on a single charge*.
*Based on the CIPA standard.
*Availability of models and colors may differ depending on the country.
*Check the website of the Panasonic sales company in your country or region for details on the LUMIX models, colors, and optional accessories that are available in your market.
