Intelligent LCD

The 2.5" LCD has a total of 207,000 dots for high resolution. The DMC-FX33 features the Intelligent LCD function. Under bright sunlight, the Auto Power LCD function increases the backlight brightness. In dark places, it increases the brightness level of live images according to the level of ambient darkness. It makes both shooting and viewing photos easier and more convenient.

Scene Mode

Versatile Scene Modes are another great LUMIX feature. And the Scene Mode list display makes them even easier to find. Choose the new High Sensitivity and Hi-speed Burst modes as well as modes like Sunset, Scenery and Underwater*, from a total of 21 scene mode in all to ensure beautiful results from any situation and any subject. Animated moving icons help you to make selections and set parameters, so anyone can take beautiful pictures.
* Use together with the optional marine case.

Hi-speed Burst mode
The DMC-FX33 can fire off up to 7 frames per second in Hi-speed Burst mode. This is great for capturing fast-moving sports or racing scenes. You can take a series of shots, then choose the one you like best and delete the rest.** (Note that the focus and exposure are fixed at the first frame.)
* In 2-megapixel (4:3), 2.5-megapixel (3:2), 2-megapixel (16:9) recording.
** The consecutive shooting speed varies depending on the memory card. The number of recordable picture depends on the memory card size, battery life, picture size, and compression.

High Sensitivity mode ISO 6400
The maximum sensitivity has been increased to ISO 6400. This lets you capture crisp, clear photos of children or pets at play and shoot in nearly total darkness. In addition, when using the High Sensitivity mode, the built-in flash reaches as far as 16 m, letting you capture clear images even in dim lighting.

* In 3-megapixel (4:3), 2.5-megapixel (3:2), 2-megapixel (16:9) recording.
* Resolution significantly decreases in High Sensitivity mode.

Mode Dial - Mode Position Display

As you operate the dial, large animated icons are displayed. The list format makes it easy to find the mode you want with the mode dial. It also enables a sleek camera design because the dial doesn't have to protrude from the body. Choose iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode and let the camera do all the work. Select the Clipboard for use as a handy "memo pad," or choose Playback Mode to view or process the shots you've taken. Direct Printing Mode also lets you connect directly to a printer without having to use a PC. This single, easy-to-understand mode dial lets you easily switch between shooting, viewing, and printing.
AF Metering
Choose from five focus methods to match the shooting conditions of your subject.

Face AF
This function detects faces for up to 15 people in the frame and automatically adjusts the focus and exposure. Face Tracking automatically tracks the subjects even if they move.

5-point AF
This mode also prevents the system from mistakenly focusing on the area between two subjects in a vertical composition.

3-point high-speed AF
This mode prevents the system from mistakenly focusing on the area between two subjects in a horizontal composition.

1-point high-speed AF
The AF time has been dramatically reduced to achieve outstanding focusing.
*Compared with normal speed focusing.

1-point AF
Although screen-freeze in high-speed AF is now minimized, you can select this mode to totally eliminate it when you are focusing on a fast-moving subject.

Spot AF
This mode keys the focus to a small area within the frame.
Select from 3 Aspect Ratios
The aspect ratio is easily selectable between 16:9* wide, 3:2** and conventional 4:3 to shoot in the framing aspect that best suits the photo's composition or purpose of use. You can shoot images in the wide 16:9 format* and save them onto an SD/SDHC Memory Card. Then insert the card into a TV equipped with an SD/SDHC card slot to view them in perfect, wide-screen size. Some TVs will display the images in stunning high definition.
*3,264 x 1,840 pixels, 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels
**3,264 x 2,176 pixels, 2,560 x 1,712 pixels, 2,048 x 1,360 pixels
Motion Picture Mode
The DMC-FX33 lets you shoot smooth moving pictures at 30 frames/sec, complete with sound, in WVGA(848 x 480 pixels at 30/10 fps) or VGA size(640 x 480 pixels at 30/10 fps).
*QuickTime Motion JPEG
**In Motion Picture mode, the length of recording time depends on the capacity of the SD / SDHC Memory Card. (Up to the equivalent of 2 GB per motion picture recording.) We recommend using a high speed SD / SDHC Memory Card with "10 MB/s" or greater displayed on the package. Some lens movement sounds may be recorded.
9-cutout Images from Motion Image
A motion image can be cut out as a still image in motion image playback. And you can also archive a 9-cutout still image.

*During playback, this button becomes the Trash button.

And picture titles can be edited.

![]()
The name and title information is displayed during playback, and can also be printed on photos in addition to conventional Date Stamp information such as date, age, and date of travel.

*When date and title are stamped on a photo, the photo is automatically resized to 3-megapixel format, or the original size is maintained for photos smaller than 3-megapixel format. However, you can choose either to save or overwrite the original picture.
Category Playback
Photos played back from about 20 settings can be searched and retrieved as a group for playback or for viewing in a slideshow.

Built-in Memory 27MB
Take photos even when you don't have an SD/SDHC Memory Card on hand. The built-in memory holds up to 27 MB of image data, which you can later copy to an SD/SDHC Memory Card or PC. You can also copy images from a memory card or PC to the built-in memory, and view them on the LCD anytime you like.

Marine Case Compatibility
The DMC-FX33 is compatible with the optional marine case. This case will protect your LUMIX camera all the way to a depth of 40 meters. It lets you take clear, beautiful photos underwater.
